The centerpiece of the Apple Barn complex is the barn itself. The structure was originally built in 1910 by the Mullendore family who farmed the fertile river bottom for generations. When the farm was purchased in the early 1970's by the Kilpatrick and Hicks families, the barn was used to store hay, shelter livestock and store farm equipment. Around 1980, after the orchard started to mature and bear fruit, it was decided that the old barn would make the perfect place from which to sell the fresh apples. So, the barn was carefully cleaned, one board at a time and a wood floor was added.

Since those early days, we have grown from just selling fresh apples for a few weeks each fall to offering thousands of apple themed and country products. We are now open seven days a week, year 'round. The barn has three levels and many visitors spend hours browsing the unique selection of merchandise. The apple cellar is one the busiest areas from early September until December, with fresh apples brought right in form the orchard. The Cider Room is also a popular stop during the fall months, where folks can watch us make fresh apple cider from
behind large windows.
