Sourwood HoneyItem #: 310
Sourwood Honey is a unique southern appalachian delicacy. In the high elevations of the Smoky Mountains, the Sourwood tree blooms for a short time each summer. During this window, beekeepers move their hives into the hard to reach mountainous terrain in hopes of capturing some of the sweet nectar. The resulting honey has a more concentrated and rich flavor than the common clover or wildflower honey. Sourwood honey is a bit more expensive because of it's difficulty to aquire and the limited supply, but we think you'll agree it's worth it!
