Apple Walnut Cake
A favorite recipe from The Apple Barn Cookbook 2.

Ingredients
2 cups sugar 1/2 cup margarine
2 eggs
2 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons nutmeg
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 cups walnuts
6 apples, finely chopped

Instructions
Cream sugar and margarine in bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs 1 at a time beating well after each addition. Combine flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and baking soda in bowl and mix well. Add dry ingredients to sugar mixture and mix well. Fold in walnuts and apples. Pour batter into greased 9X13 inch baking pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 or 45 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Yield: 15 servings.
